#1-Choosing A Guitar

It’s very important to know the best guitar to buy when you want to learn to play the guitar.  And which guitar that is really depends on what kind of genre you want to play.

All of the guitars on this page were chosen because they are good beginners guitars for the type of music specified.

Best Rock Guitars

If you want to play rock, then your best bet is to choose an electric guitar.  You will also need an amplifier to play rock and possibly even a distortion pedal.

For rock I would choose a Fender Stratocaster or Gibson Les Paul.

If you want to play Metal, then I would choose an Ibanez or Hamer.

Best Country Guitars

If you are interested in playing country, then your best bet is to choose an electric or acoustic guitar.  My favorite electric guitar for playing country music is a Fender Telecaster and for acoustic is a Martin.

Best Blues Guitars

Have that itch to play like Stevie Ray Vaughn?  Well, it may be the musician more than the guitar itself, but for the blues I prefer the Godin or even the Gibson ES-335.
